This one-off Grants process has been established to assist not-for-profit ACT childcare centre operators meet some of the infrastructure costs associated with transitioning to the new compliance requirements set out in The National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and Care (Framework).

Community Energy Grants
Environment and Sustainable Development Directorate
The ACT Government’s Community Energy Grants program provides funding to help Canberra community groups to install renewable energy technologies, such as solar photovoltaic panels, wind generators and solar hot water, to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of the buildings they occupy.

Community Support and Infrastructure Grants Program

Disability ACT Quality of Life Grants
Community Services Directorate
Quality of Life Grants will be offered for small, person-centred initiatives that will make a real difference to the quality of life of people with a disability. Applications for grant funding are invited from people with disabilities aged under 65, and the families, carers and services who support them.

ACT Health Promotion Grants Program
Health Directorate
ACT Health Promotion Grants Program
The ACT Health Promotion Grants Program provides funds to community, health, arts and sports organisations for capacity building and health promotion activities. The program also carries out field development for the community in health promotion principles and practice as well as a research and evaluation component. The majority of available funds are provided to community organisations to undertake health promotion projects. Priority for funding is given to applications which:
-
Holistically address the focus areas: smoking prevention, sun protection, healthy nutrition, physical activity, safe behaviours, community development and promoting mental health in community settings;

Target people who are at risk of ill-health from long term disadvantage;

Work with the four messages: smoking prevention, sun protection, healthy nutrition and physical activity. (Note: the four messages are compulsory with sponsorship funding and optional for grants funding.)
ACT Health Promotion Grants Program
Community Funding Round
The Community Funding Round aims to support activities related to the promotion of good health in general and the prevention of chronic disease with a particular focus on reducing health inequalities. Organisations will be funded to develop partnerships that strengthen the capacity of individuals and communities to make healthy choices. The funding round also aims to build the capability of organisations to adopt health promotion principles and practices and deliver a range of health promotion strategies.

The Falls Prevention in Residential Aged Care Funding Round is open to residential aged care facilities in the ACT and/or community organisations working with residential aged care facilities. The goal of the Falls Prevention funding round is to reduce the incidence and severity of falls and fall injuries among older people within the ACT.

Health Promotion Sponsorship Funding Round

ACT Health Promotion Sponsorships provide funds to sporting, arts and cultural organisations in return for the promotion of health messages (smoking reduction, increasing physical activity, healthy nutrition, sun protection) and the adoption of healthy policies. Through the use of branding with health promotion messages such as “SmokeFree” and “Go for 2and5” health promotion sponsorships aim to effect positive health outcomes within the wider community.

Working in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training, ACT Health Promotion Grants Program delivers the Healthy Schools Healthy Children Funding Round in order to provide applicants with the opportunity to access funds to purchase equipment and implement projects that align with key healthy eating and physical activity policies, programs and frameworks within school communities.

ACTAS Individual Athlete Scholarship Program
ACT Academy of Sports
In sports where ACTAS does not have a partnered squad program, eligible athletes may apply for an individual scholarship under the ACTAS Individual Athlete Program. This program currently supports ACT and regional elite athletes from a variety of Olympic, Paralympic and and Commonwealth Games Sports. In general athletes must be at least 16 years of age to be considered for an ACTAS Individual Scholarship. Scholarships are not available for athletes in veterans or masters age groups. Tenant Participation Grants
Community Services Directorate
Housing ACT has funding available for individual and community projects/activities/courses that will benefit Canberra's community housing and public housing tenants. The program is looking for projects/activities that will promote:

Social inclusion (involvement in a group or team based activity);

Education and training (participation in a learning activity such as a CIT course or a community education program);

Employment (this is closely tied to education and training, but could also encompass support for small-scale business ventures).
A maximum of $1,000 for individuals of $5,000 for groups will be available.
